this is it

today went pretty well. i brought john to work in the morning and made out a to-do-list of what i wanted to get done...since we have been gone or busy all week the house was a total wreck and needed cleaning desperately...

so after church we came home and cleaned! it was great, i was in the "mood" (i get much more accomplished when i'm in the mood to clean) and the kids were really good about helping. first they helped pick up all the toys and put them in their room (usually they never help, maybe i asked them in the right way this time? or they knew how dirty the house was) then we rounded up all the dirty clothes and started a wash. then i let them go at it with the vacuum while i cleaned the kitchen counters off... i took over vacuuming after that and VOILA! suddenly the house looked so much cleaner! (minus the dishes in the sink which were John's responsibility) i felt so accomplished! and this was all in 2 1/2 hours... then we hurried off to pick up john from work...

they had the Wellness Tour Bus at his Walgreens store (seigen and perkins) that was giving free health screenings to whoever was interested...so i got one done. it had been awhile... overall, i am pretty healthy. my blood pressure was good, my cholesterol was 139...i have no idea how good that is, i just know it isn't bad...and my BMI and body fat percentage was within normal limits... my glucose level was even good... so that's nice to know...that made me feel good... and john got one done too...i hope his results made him realize he needs to exercise more and choose to eat healthier foods. his cholesterol level was 195 which is borderline too high.

anyhow, when we got home at 6:45 i made a good dinner (which i haven't been so good at lately) chicken and broccoli casserole...i wanted to make sure kathryn got a few bites of food before she couldnt have anything to eat (nothing after 9) so i was proud of myself for having a productive day.

kathryn's surgery is tomorrow...i'm trying not to get too anxious about it... we'll see how things go...

so you might be wondering, what is so special about this picture... well if you look closely, you'll see 6 dead flies...i thought it was crazy to see 6 of the same kind of fly (pretty big and dumb ones) in the same window at once... well little did i know when i got back from church there would be 9 more at the same window! i killed 15 in all! stupid pesky flies! where did they come from???

and this is one of my roses...it is so awesome how it's scented and a pretty color!
this is a smaller bloom... it starts off really purple. it's called lagerfeld and it is one of my favorites.

and last, daniel climbed up in my lap one morning and just sat there while watching his movie. i really thought it was cute how he was staying so still so i snapped the picture.
