accomplishments

so i've got to be positive today, and for that to happen, i've got to spill all my "goods" and "bads" so i can move on. lol.

i had to take john to work this morning. we are treating the motorcycle as if it is not there because the tires are bald and that is incredibly dangerous, and i kinda want john to stay in one piece. so, we only have one vehicle. you know, lots of families have done the "one vehicle" thing and so it can be done, and it's not permanent...

it's simply a bit more difficult to coordinate timing. especially when john works at seigen and perkins and we live in walker and have to battle interstate traffic and baton rouge traffic. you just never know what you're gonna get. and he had to be to work by 8 yesterday, but since kathryn has to be to school by 8:20, we were aiming for 7:30. we left at 7 which i knew wasn't going to be a good thing. traffic was horrible, john didn't make it to work til 8:15 and that obviously meant kathryn would be really late to school. we didn't make it home til 8:50. kathryn finally made it to school by 9:10. and that was rushing like crazy to get her dressed and lunch packed. but i guess i'm not too worried.. they eat breakfast til 9 and then start the morning routine, so she didn't miss much. she had her breafast on the way to bring dad to work. i keep telling myself (this is the 2nd time this has happened) we need to leave by 6:45 at the latest, but we are all so tired that getting up at 6:30 and getting everyone ready means we don't leave til 7. and i just hate waking the kids up when they arent up yet, b/c they are cranky and cry a good bit of the way...and crying and frustrating traffic and being late...make for a good headache. maybe next time we'll get it right.

i finally finished my wreath for my front door and i felt like sharing the picture. i'm so proud of myself. i never get to make pretty things much, because i never have the money to buy the supplies, not to mention the babies in the house that would destroy it. so i tend to but the arts and crafts on hold. it feels good to see it every time i come or go.

and i decided to take a picture of the top of the christmas tree the part that is decorated, although it's nothing spectacular. i didn't work on it very hard because of a little destroyer named daniel... it's our first tree in 2 years. (our apt was much too small for a tree)
so this morning when i got in the garage i noticed our roof was leaking again. i went to take a picture as proof and when i got back from dropping everyone off, i went in the attic to check it out...
i can't figure out where the water is coming from... i saw no holes in the roof above the puddle, so i don't get it. and it doesn't even happen every rain...only twice since we've been in.... for 3 1/2 months.
and our garage door has been acting stupid with not wanting to go up or down and now the wheel got off the track. POC cheap door!!
the leaking from the garage. at least it isn't in our house right?

and lastly, kathryn is having this surgery in 5 days or so... and we are supposed to pay for it the day of. well, i was expecting about $400 that would come out of our pocket (we pay 20% after the last $100 of our deductible is met ) turns out this is the run down of costs for each separate entity

Doctor - $650 we pay $250 deposit (we'll only owe about $225)
Facility - $1315 we pay $263
Anethesia - $360 we pay $72
Bloodwork - unknown (guessing $25)
Pathology - unknown (guessing $30)
Phsyical - $83 we pay $17

adding it all up...we have about $657 approximately...not including any follow up visits she may need. whew. that was a bit more than we expected...especially with these unexpected things coming up to zap our money...(speeding ticket of $230, pulling out of the ditch $85, initial ENT visit $150) so needless to say, i am very glad we have $1000 in savings (THANK YOU DAVE RAMESY!) and i'm even more glad we haven't touched it till now. so if only we can make it till February ::crossing fingers::

ahhh, that feels better. now i can have a better day.
