pretty good

so while i was at foxy's today a guy i swam laps next to was in the whirlpool and asked me so how was your day? pretty good i replied. isn't that the generic response? most people don't want to wait to hear the whole story, or they don't even care, they are just making small talk...but he then said...well, what was so good about your day? oh, so you actually care. well that's nice of you. a total stranger interested in how someone else's life is going. so i got to talk to him. i got to smile looking at all the things that are going pretty good in my life right now. hubby has a job, a good job with great benefits, kids are relatively healthy and doing great, and i get to stay home with them, have a garden and other hobbies, and occasionally go to Foxy's and have some me time. i really am feeling pretty good. that and i've lost 4 lbs since Friday.

so i finally got to go to Foxy's today, Monday i had to bring John to work at 11 so that blew my plans for going while kathryn was in school, and Tuesday we were running way late, so i couldn't go in the am, and i had to pick John up in the evening and wasn't getting back out after that (they only have childcare from 8-12 and 4-8) but since john was off today, i decided i was going! i went in the evening and weighed myself before i began and yay! 4 lbs lighter than when i came on friday! so that was nice.

a little weights (mainly abs and arms) a little cardio on the eliptical cause i forgot my headphones!!! (i always forget something every time!) and then i decided i would do cardio in the pool for a nice cool down, and to get some endurance built up... a little steam room (i love it) a little whirlpool and then a shower to finish it off. i didn't get the full 2 hours because i got there late, but it was nice nonetheless. i love it when i have sore muscles.

well, one of the reasons i didn't work out in the am was i went to hang out with Jenni (my SIL). Turns out she is really good and quick at making hair bows (i let her go at it with the overstock of ribbon i have after i showed her how i make my bows) and i got to talking about selling them... since she has the time to sit and make them (with no kids you can get a lot done!) so if anyone is interested in buying hairbows... i'm going to help her market them... here's some pictures

hopefully we will be able to sell some!

so before it got super flippin cold i went outside and picked some lettuce for my sandwich and i always spy on my other plants while i'm out in the garden, and this is what i found:

my broccoli is growing a head of florets!!! YAY!! i am sooo happy that my crappy soil didn't stop my broccoli! i only had 5 out of 13 plants survive and only 3 are doing really good. so this really made my day. i can't wait for all the success my spring garden will have (when i do it the right way this time) so here are all my romaine/bibb lettuce plants i still have a patch that i need to thin out, but all my transplants are in the ground now!
in the bottom left corner there are 2 carrots that are hanging on that Henry didn't dig up...

these are where my broccoli plants are... the lettuce plants look scattered...

the patch i still need to thin out.

the last of the transplants...hopefully i will have enough space to thin out the remaining lettuce...if not, i'll just cut the tops and use in a salad...the thing i like about leaf lettuce is you can harvest the leaves one at a time and stretch out the harvest season! i've been plucking lettuce leaves for almost 2 months now as i need them! no more lettuce going bad, and it's an endless supply! oh i am so grateful the Lord has allowed me to be successful with a few plants in my garden!

so one way to start cloth diapering again is to run out of disposable diapers and run out of money.
yep, i kinda quit cloth diapers for a month or so because daniel kept getting rashes and stuff and well, we have run out of diapers and money, and i'm giving it another shot... every little bit helps.
